Abstract Objective To explore the cervical HPV infection status and related risk factors among women in the vicinity of a 3A hospital. Methods The women who resided around Characteristics Medical Center of Chinese People’s Armed Police Force and naturally visited the gynecological outpatient department from January 2020 to July 2023 were selected as the study subjects. Through questionnaire survey and detection of HPV typing of cervical epithelial exfoliated cells, HPV infection status and related factors were statistically analyzed. Results A total of 5967 women were selected, and 1122 cases were infected with cervical HPV, with HPV infection rate of 18.80% (1122/5967), of which single infection accounted for 78.61% (882/1122) and multiple infections accounted for 21.39% (240/1122). Multiple infections include mixed infections of 2 to 5 HPV subtypes, with a dual infection rate of 2.77% (165/5967), triple infection rate of 1.06% (63/5967), quadruple infection rate of 0.15% (9/5967), and quintuple infection rate of 0.05% (3/5967). The single infection rate of high-risk HPV was 12.42% (741/5967), and the single infection rate of low-risk HPV was 2.36% (141/5967). The top 5 infection rate from high to low were HPV 52 (3.17%), HPV 16 (2.92%), HPV 53 (2.66%), HPV 58 (1.66%) and HPV 56 (1.46%). The number of previous sexual partners (OR 1.559, 95%CI 1.409-1.724) and age of first sexual intercourse (OR 0.820, 95%CI 0.707-0.952) were related risk factors for HPV infection. Conclusions The HPV subtypes among the women who naturally seek medical treatment in this region have their own characteristics, mainly single infection, and the HPV types were mainly 52, 16, 53, 58, and 5. The number of previous sexual partners and the age of first sexual intercourse are related risk factors for HPV infection.
