Abstract:Objective To study the prevalence and major types of mental disorders in recruits of CAPF. Methods 115 718 recruits from units in 2010 and 2011 were screened with the personal Perception Test System (PPTS) during the basic military training period. Results 296 cases of mental disorder were found,and the point prevalence rate was 0.256%, which including the highest prevalence rate of mood disorder(0.050%), adjustment disorder(0.048%), mental retardation(0.035%), schizophrenia(0.029%), and neurosis(0.029%), their percentages were 19.59%,18.58%,13.85%,11.49%,and 11.15%, respectively, and the total percentage was 74.66% of 296 cases. Conclusions There is a certain prevalence rate of mental disorders in the recruits. It is very important to screen mental disorders in the recruits effectively and in time.
