Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Shengmai Dihuang decoction in the treatment of early and middle stage diabetic nephropathy and its effect on serum cystatin C (Cys-C) and other indicators. Methods One hundred and two patients with early-stage diabetic nephropathy (DN) admitted to our hospital between January 2016 and January 2018 were selected as the subjects, who were divided into the control group and the observation group. The control group was given routine treatment while the observation group was additionally given self-designed Shengmai Dihuang decoction. One course of treatment lasted 3 months. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated after one course of treatment, and changes in renal function indicators, blood glucose indicators and serum marker expression levels of the two groups of patients were observed after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.16%, compared with 72.55% in the control group, so the difference was statistically significant. The difference in such blood glucose indexes as FBG,2hPG and HbA1c, in renal function indexes including SCr,BUN, U-β2MG, and total urine protein at 24 h and in such serum markers as Cys-C,RBP,and Hcy was statistically significant between the two groups (P<0.05)after treatment. All the above indicators in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Shengmai Dihuang decoction is effective in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy and can effectively improve the renal function of patients and reduce the expression levels of serum Cys-C markers.
