Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical value of high-frequency ultrasonographic diagnosis of limb myocele. Methods Between March 2014 and October 2015,high-frequency ultrasonography was performed in 28 patients with limb lumps, and the result of high-frequency ultrasonography was compared with the diagnosis after surgery. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of high-frequency ultrasonography were calculated, while the limb myocele location, classification and ultrasonographic manifestations were summarized. Results Among the 23 cases confirmed by operation, 22 were diagnosed with limb myocele by high-frequency ultrasonography. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of high-frequency ultrasonography in diagnosis of limb myocele were 95.65%, 100.00%, and 96.43%, respectively. Limb myocele was mostly located in the anterolateral lower leg,and high-frequency ultrasonography showed that the muscular fascia was discontinuous and masses were reusable. Conclusions High-frequency ultrasonography is of great value in clinical diagnosis of limb myocele.
