Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of the infertile patients without assisted reproductive technology (ART)intervention. Methods CNKI, WanFang Data, VIP, Sinomed, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and The Cochrane Library databases were searched by computer to collect randomized controlled trials on acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of the infertile patients without ART intervention. Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.4.0 software. Results Twenty-five papers were included. Meta analysis results showed that compared with western medicine treatment, acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment could improve the pregnancy rate of infertile patients without ART intervention [RR=1.72, 95%CI (1.51, 1.97), P<0.01],and increase endometrium thickness on HCG days [SMD=1.10, 95%CI (0.78, 1.42), P<0.01]. There was no statistical significance in the rate of periodic ovulation between the acupuncture group and the western group (P>0.05). Conclusions Compared with western medicine, acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine can effectively improve the pregnancy rate of infertile patients without ART intervention and increase the endometrial thickness on HCG days.
