Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive intervention on prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome in obese children. Methods Eighty-eight obese children admitted to our hospital between January 2015 and August 2016 were selected as subjects. These children were divided into two groups by completely random number method: the comprehensive intervention group and the control group. The control group was subjected to routine interventions while the comprehensive intervention group was given comprehensive interventions. Interventions lasted 6 months in both groups. After 6 months of intervention, the body’s indicators of these children were compared between the two groups. Results After six months of intervention, the difference in body mass index, waist circumference, blood lipids, blood pressure, blood glucose, and insulin-related data (P<0.05) was statistically significant (P<0.05)in both groups, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusions The incidence of obesity among children with insulin resistance and metabolic abnormalities is relatively high, which deserves adequate attention.Effective means of intervention can reduce the risk of this disease.
