Disease spectrum of hospitalized soldiers in a plateau military hospital between 2014-2016

Abstract:Objective To investigate the disease spectrum of hospitalized soldiers in a plateau military hospital and provide reference for prevention of disease on the plateau.Methods The medical records of soldiers hospitalized between 2014 and 2016 were collected from the hospital database and classified according to the ICD-10.Results The top six diseases in terms of constituent ratios were digestive system diseases(20.25%), musculoskeletal and connective tissue diseases(16.55%), injury and poisoning diseases(16.37%), respiratory diseases(13.73%), skin diseases(11.27%) and urogenital diseases(9.51%). Gastroenteritis, joint injuries, fractures, tonsillitis, rash and urinary calculi were the most common diseases among these inpatients each year.Conclusions Military hospitals are to attach importance to the prevention and treatment of digestive system diseases, musculoskeletal and connective tissue diseases, injury and poisoning diseases. In addition, health education may help keep soldiers healthy.
