Studies in Science of Science is a comprehensive academic journal founded in 1983 by the China Science of Science and S&T Policy Association. It is currently supervised jointly by the China Science of Science and S&T Policy Association, Institute of S&T Policy and Management Science of CAS, and STS Center of Tsinghua University.

Studies in Science of Science has been covered as a core Chinese periodical by A Guide to the Core Chinese Periodical in the category of Science and Science Research, awarded as a core Chinese humanities and social sciences periodical by the Chinese Academy of Social Science, selected as a leading Chinese journal for academic degree and postgraduate education by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, included as a source journal for Chinese S&T paper statistics by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and identified as an A-level leading journal for management science by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
