Abstract: How to distribute R&D activities for Chinese High-tech firms?Does foreign R&D centers work?On what condition? In order to answer these questions, we integrate knowledge based view and oragniation economics theory, and propose that the quantity of the subsidiaries with R&D activities have significant improvement for firms’ innovation performance, while R&D concentration incurs significantly positive influence. Moreover, technological diversity negatively moderates these effects. Our data supports our hypothesis well.

摘要: 中国高新技术企业的研发活动需要集中化还是分散化分布?在国外建立研发机构是否有用?何种条件下这种选择变得更加容易?针对这些问题,本文整合了知识基础观和组织经济学,并基于转型经济背景,提出企业在国内外开展研发活动的子公司越多,在国内研发活动越集中,企业整体创新绩效越高;同时技术多样性会负向调节这些效应。通过对上市公司从2000-2009年的面板数据进行负二项回归分析,验证了本文假设。
