  • The Effect and Enterprise Diffence of Factor Market Distortion on R&D Input: An Emperical Analysis of China’s High-tech Industries
  • 2015 Vol. 33 (11): 1660-1668.
  • Abstract ( )
  • This article utilizes the index of factor market distortion and the inter-provincial panel data of China’s high-tech industries during the period of 1997 to 2009 to make an empirical study of factors market distortions influence on the R&D input. The results show that factor market distortion has significantly different effects on R&D capital investment and R&D manpower input. It has an negetive impact on the R&D capital investment, but promotes R&D manpower input. Moreover, After the WTO, the negetive impact on the R&D capital investment declines, the impact on R&D manpower input changes to be insignificant. There are regional differences of factors market distortions influence on the R&D input, and enterprise features play an important role. In the enterprise of larger scale, or higher openness, or high capital intensive, the negetive impact on the R&D input is smaller. In addition, new product demands, financing environment, financial investment and intellectual property protection are all important environmental factors which affect R&D input.
  • The Evolution of the International Research on University-Industry Collaboration - The Perspective of Mapping Knowledge Domains
  • Kai-Hua Chen
  • 2015 Vol. 33 (11): 1669-1686.
  • Abstract ( )
  • In order to track the evolution of the international research on university-industry collaboration, this paper implements analyses of mapping knowledge domains based on the publication papers related to university-industry collaboration retrieved from the database of Web of Science. The results show that the characteristic of the international research of university-industry collaboration has changed significantly in the past nearly 50 years (1966-2014), these changes are mainly reflected in the following aspects: the research scope has changed from the sporadic explorative research in the past to the standardized systematical study at present; the research perspective has shifted from the simple linear model of innovation to the nonlinear fusion model of the innovation; the research hotspot has changed from the early study of university-industry collaboration and university-industry relations to the diversity of current research such as triple helix, technology transfer, the factors that influencing university-industry cooperation and the impact of university-industry cooperation. It is also found that the international research on the university-industry collaboration was mainly affected by the innovation theory of Schumpeter and the innovation diffusion theory of Rogers in the early stages but now is affected by the innovation theory of “triple helix”. This paper offers some new reference for tracking the evolution of the international research on the university-industry collaboration, and gaining insight into the knowledge base, the hotspots and development trends in this field.
  • The Antecedent and Consequence of Collaborative Knowledge Management Practices: The Empirical Study Based On the Industry Cluster Enterprises
  • 2015 Vol. 33 (11): 1687-1699.
  • Abstract ( )
  • As an important area of inter-organizational knowledge management research, collaborative knowledge management practice (CKMP) is considered as the key factor to achieve inter-enterprise knowledge synergy and enhance the ability of cluster innovation. However, Existing studies have failed to thoroughly investigate the relationship between CKMP and organization competitive advantage and how to guide the successful implementation of CKMP. To address this issue, current research identified its antecedents and consequences on the basis of clarifying the content of CKMP. Using surveys from 342industry cluster companies in 5 different regions in China, The empirical research found: (1)CKMP was a multidimensional construct including collaborative knowledge creation, collaborative knowledge storage, accessibility of knowledge acquisition, collaborative knowledge diffusion and collaborative knowledge application; (2)successful implementation of CKMP was influenced by three factors: the characteristics of the organization, The attribute of knowledge, the situation of collaboration; (3)different antecedents have different significant effects on CKMP: the attribute of knowledge had the strongest effect, organizational factors were relatively weaker and situational factors is weakest. (4) CKMP had the positive effect on the knowledge quality, cluster supply chain integration and organizational innovation. This paper established the integration model of CKMP before and consequence variables, which is a powerful supplement to the existing knowledge management theory
  • Research on inclusive innovation of BOP e-merchants: community intermediary perspective
  • 2015 Vol. 33 (11): 1740-1748.
  • Abstract ( )
  • Based on the qualitative data on Suichang Online Store Association, this paper discusses the internal mechanism of inclusive innovation for BOP e-merchants from the perspective of community intermediary. The results are as follows: first, aggregation is the key factor in promoting the development and the ultimate inclusive innovation of BOP e-merchants; second, community intermediary as a trusted third party, facilitates the aggregation and development of BOP e-merchants to realize inclusive innovation through organizational and functional evolutions; third, community intermediary as a critical role in e-trust platform, facilitates the aggregation and development of BOP e-merchants to realize inclusive innovation through the collaboration with enterprise and technology intermediaries. This paper makes insightful contributions to extant inclusive innovation theory in research context, research content and research perspective, while providing practical implications for inclusive innovation activities in the context of e-commerce.
  • Innovation model of 5 w - 1 h (360 degrees) on OEM enterprises' brand upgrading --- based on exploratory case study of Samsung electronics
  • 2015 Vol. 33 (11): 1749-1759.
  • Abstract ( )
  • In developed markets, Samsung who was famous for producing cheap products has ever faced on the verge of bankruptcy crisis, but after that period, Samsung has developed rapidly and become the international first-class brand of digital products. Samsung are very similar with local OEM enterprises at the primary developing stage and historical background. Samsung is a successful benchmarking of local OEM enterprise can touch. Therefore, these study focuses on the brand upgrading process, mechanism and mode of OEM based on the exploratory study of Samsung electronics. Research results show that the local OEM should play strategic entrepreneurship behavior under the drive of entrepreneurship (Why), at the right time (When), with appropriate organization (Where), by exploring the potential customers and the demand (Who), provide consumers with innovative products and services (What), and be guaranteed by the talent training mechanism and enterprise culture (How). The above behavior can promote brand upgrading. Compared with the previous research, this model analyze strategic entrepreneurship behavior with 360 degree Angle which make up for the limited research Angle. At the same time, from the Angle of 5W-1H, the research clarifying the logic relationship among internal motivation, strategic entrepreneurial behavior, and safeguarding mechanism. Further, the model of 5W-1H provides OEM an evaluation tool to evaluate and to improve its strategic entrepreneurship ability. Finally, this research summarizes several effective modes of non-R&D innovation, the technology.
