Abstract：Objective To find out about the quality of life and influencing factors among retired officers of Armed Police.Methods A survey of 480 elderly inpatients was carried out by means of the General Status Questionnaire,the Simple Intelligent Mental State Examination Scale,and the Comprehensive Quality of Life Rating Scale (GQOLI-74).Results 64.6 to 67.8 percent of these retired officers scored above 50 in the four major areas of quality of life,indicating a overall good quality of life.According to the analysis of all the factors affecting quality of life,chronic diseases affected each aspect of life quality of the elderly (P<0.05).Age had some effect on their physical health (t=4.913,P<0.05) while education levels had some influence on their mental state (t=2.463,P<0.05).Conclusions The formulation of health care measures for retired officers requires that their particularities be taken into consideration so as to take more effective measures to help them to stay healthy and improve their quality of life.
