Abstract: Abstract: As a most important founder for both ‘Chinese Science Society’--the first comprehensive scientific community in China, and the journal of ‘Science’--the first scientific journal in China, Ren Hongjun took the concept of "Saving the Nation with Science" as a guide, devotes all of his efforts to introduce modern science to China. The practice and exploration of his work for establishing scientific institution in China and his systematic understanding of modern science still remain an important inspiration and reference for the progress of science and technology as well as social development in China today.
