企业如何成功实现技术商业化

How Firms Achieve Successful Technology Commercialization? A Mediated Moderation Model

摘要: 尽管技术商业化对企业生存与发展至关重要,现有研究对企业如何成功实现技术商业化仍然认识不足。基于动态能力理论,本文探讨了转型经济背景下技术能力、战略柔性两种企业内部因素的交互作用对技术商业化的影响,尤其关注了以创新、冒险和战略革新为主要特征的公司创业活动在这一过程中所发挥的重要作用,在此基础上构建了一个被中介的调节效应模型。基于我国251家企业的调研数据发现,技术能力与战略柔性的交互作用通过公司创业的中介机制最终促进了企业技术商业化成功,即存在被中介的调节效应。从而揭示了转型经济背景下企业技术商业化的作用机制,既拓展了动态能力、技术商业化等方面的理论研究,也对企业技术商业化实践具有一定的指导意义。

Abstract: Although technology commercialization is critical for firms’ survival and development, we know little about how to make successful technology commercialization in existing research. Drawing on dynamic capability theory, this paper discusses how the interaction effects of technological capability and strategic flexibility impact technology commercialization success under the transitional economy background. Especially, we focus on the role of corporate entrepreneurship which consists of innovation, venturing and strategic renewal, and build a mediated moderation model. The empirical results from a sample of 251 firms in China show that the interaction of technological capability and strategic flexibility contributes to the success of firms’ technology commercialization with corporate entrepreneurship as a mediator, supporting the proposed mediated moderation effect. In this way, the mechanisms of how firms can achieve successful technology commercialization in the context of emerging economies have been discovered. It not only extends theories in the fields of technology commercialization, dynamic capability etc., but also provides some practical guidance for firms concerning technology commercialization.
